Help Sara move out of an unsafe apartment this Friday
A short, concrete way to help: a few hours of lifting and loading in Venice.

After my landlord sold the building, I found a safe, affordable apartment in Venice, and the lease starts on Friday. I have a teenager and a toddler, a few pieces of furniture and no money for movers.
I'm hoping for four volunteers for about six hours. If you have a van or pickup, that would help enormously - I'll cover fuel.
The old place is on the third floor with no elevator and the new place has a ground-floor entrance. We'll do it in two trips. Lunch and cold drinks are on me.
I know this is a lot to ask of strangers. I'd be happy to share references from my landlord and my employer.
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Sending good thoughts, Sara. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Sent it to 15 people at work
So sorry you're going through this, Sara. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. I have a 11 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
Stay strong, Sara. I hope things turn around soon. My neighbor in Likoni donated after I showed her your page. All the best.
