Help Rashid keep his home - 2 months behind on rent
After a sudden layoff, Rashid is 2 months behind on rent and has a notice to vacate from the landlord.
🇫🇷 France2,016 views
Following a long illness in the family, Rashid fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Monday a notice to vacate was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $3,650.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by October, the family must leave.
There are two young children at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Rashid has started working weekend shifts, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $3,650 goes:
• Rent arrears (2 months): $2,350
• Late fees and court costs: $240
• Utilities in arrears: $230
• First month of rent as a buffer: $830
With deep gratitude,
Rahma

Sending good thoughts. Shared this with my family. Sent it to 23 people at work. Greetings from Kyiv
Best of luck. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Take care
