Shoaib was diagnosed with a hernia that has become strangulated in May. The surgeon at Saint Anne Hospital recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and He is scheduled for August. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,100, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $1,050 short.
my brother has been in and out of Saint Anne Hospital since May. The doctors say a hernia that has become strangulated will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,100 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Shoaib struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Shoaib won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.
