Help Rafael through 8 rounds of treatment for stomach cancer
8 rounds of treatment are planned at Salvador University Hospital; we are asking for help with the costs insurance does not cover.

Rafael was diagnosed with stomach cancer in March. The oncology team at Salvador University Hospital has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in June. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Rafael is 28, worked as a tailor until March, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Salvador University Hospital 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $2,300 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $100
• Scans and lab work: $220
• Household costs while unable to work: $280
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,700

Hope things get better soon, Marcelo. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I have a 13 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Love from San Diego.
