The electricity account is 3 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on July unless I pay $550. I have never been late before April's medical emergency. I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $80 first, which I don't have. I live with three children under ten, and going through summer without electricity isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home. I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady. Every dollar goes to the account in Andreas's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates. Where the $550 goes: • Gas arrears: $200 • Reconnection and late fees: $130 • Down payment on a payment plan: $220 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Andreas

Wishing you the best, Andreas. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.

      • Good luck, Andreas. This could happen to any of us.

        • It takes guts to ask. Well done. Thinking of Wiesbaden.
