Help Qing through 8 rounds of treatment for non-Hodgkin lymphoma

Qing is facing non-Hodgkin lymphoma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Qing was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in July. The oncology team at Toronto University Hospital has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 8 weeks. Qing is 33, worked as a bakery worker until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Toronto University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $8,400 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $4,000 • Scans and lab work: $1,450 • Transport to Toronto University Hospital: $520 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $380 • Household costs while unable to work: $2,050 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Updates from Yu

  1. Quick update: $150 raised so far (2%). I met with the treatment center and confirmed the amounts. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($150 in total) I made the first payment toward household costs while unable to work. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
