Looking for an UX design mentor: Donal's career change at 52
A mentor in UX design could help Donal with a portfolio, interviews and first-job strategy.

I have worked as a stay-at-home parent for 12 years, and I'm 52. After being laid off, I decided to move into UX design, and I have completed a bootcamp.
What I'm missing is someone who has walked this path: feedback on my CV and LinkedIn profile, a realistic view of the job market in Munster, and a sounding board when things feel overwhelming.
I'm hoping for one 45-minute video call a month for six months, plus the occasional email question. I'll bring specific questions and I won't waste your time.
All I can offer back is my thanks, and I'll mentor someone else once I'm settled.
Thank you for reading my story.

best of luck, Donal. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Wish I lived closer to Breda so I could bring a meal.
So sorry you're going through this, Donal. Your post was clear and honest. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Take care.
Keep going, Donal. Gave what I could, wish it was more. It's not much but it's yours. Blessings.
Praying for you, Donal. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. I'm in social work myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.

Hang in there. Small businesses are the heart of Cork. Hope you're open again soon.
Sending love, Donal. Hope the shop reopens soon. Put this on a community board in Los Angeles this morning. Take care
