Rawalpindi
Nadeem was diagnosed with cervical cancer in August. The oncology team at the Rawalpindi Oncology Institute has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 6 weeks. Nadeem is 32, worked as a bank teller until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Rawalpindi Oncology Institute 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $700 goes: • Scans and lab work: $135 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $400 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $60 • Transport to the Rawalpindi Oncology Institute: $105 Glad we found this place.

  • Stay strong, Asad. Shared it with a few friends. After 30 years in social work I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care

    • Sending strength, Asad. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Blessings

      • best of luck. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. God bless.

Thanks for sharing this. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Rawalpindi.

          • Hope it all works out, Asad. Wishing Nadeem a smooth procedure and a full recovery. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Greetings from Columbus
