Help Nabirye get through 4 hard months with a toddler and a seven-year-old

Nabirye and a toddler and a seven-year-old need a bridge to stability after the death of my husband.

After the death of my husband in May, I'm now raising a toddler and a seven-year-old on my own. I work as a school kitchen assistant, but my income doesn't cover rent, childcare and groceries. I'm retraining as an electrician in the evenings, which will triple my income by September, but I need to bridge the gap until then. Some weeks I skip meals so my children can eat. I have never asked anyone for help like this before, and I'm doing it for them. Once I finish my course, I'll pay it forward. Every cent is accounted for. I'll share a simple monthly breakdown. Where the $400 goes: • Groceries and school meals: $175 • Course fees and exam costs: $95 • Childcare and after-school care: $130 Every share and every dollar helps. - Nabirye

  • Take care, Nabirye. Your post was clear and honest. My neighbor in Nairobi donated after I showed her your page
