Help me pay for ACL reconstruction at Arlington Regional Medical Center

In May I was diagnosed with a cleft palate needing repair. My surgeon at Arlington Regional Medical Center recommended ACL reconstruction, and I have been placed on the schedule for August. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $8,000, and after what my insurance will pay, I'm still $4,750 short. Doctors at Arlington Regional Medical Center told me a cleft palate needing repair will get worse without ACL reconstruction. I work as a call-centre agent, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $8,000 is far beyond what I've. Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a call-centre agent have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk. The recovery period is expected to take about 6 weeks. I'll not be able to walk without help during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section. Where the $4,750 goes: • Travel and lodging for the family: $520 • Hospital stay (3 nights): $2,750 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $320 • Physiotherapy sessions: $1,000 • Post-operative medication: $160 Thanks for being kind about this. - Rubén

Updates from Rubén

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($2,889 in total) we've started the first stage. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Thank you all. We're at 39% now ($1,848). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the hospital and confirmed the amounts.

hope this works out for you. I went through something like this 4 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of Arlington.
