Stuttgart

I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a diploma in hospitality management at the Stuttgart Institute of Technology, and I'm one semester away from graduating. I have worked as a barista to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $1,850. The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a first-class average, and my academic advisor has written in support of my application for a payment plan. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility. I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student. The payment will go directly to the the Stuttgart Institute of Technology bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $1,850 goes: • Exam and lab fees: $125 • Textbooks and materials: $280 • Outstanding tuition balance: $1,445 With deep gratitude, Bernd

Updates from Bernd

Good news. Because of your gifts ($310 in total) I made the first payment toward exam and lab fees. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
Thank you all. We're at 6% now ($110). I'm honestly stunned. the plan for textbooks and materials is now scheduled.
Quick update: $60 raised so far (3%). I met with the university and confirmed the amounts. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
