Maria was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in August. The oncology team at Venice University Hospital has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 7 weeks. Maria is 46, worked as a taxi driver until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Venice University Hospital 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $6,850 goes: • Scans and lab work: $1,200 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,450 • Transport to Venice University Hospital: $280 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $3,920 Thanks for being kind about this.
