Help Madeline through 4 rounds of treatment for kidney cancer
Madeline is facing kidney cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇬🇧 United Kingdom978 views
Madeline was diagnosed with kidney cancer in August. The oncology team at Aberdeen Cancer Centre has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
Madeline is 45, worked as a taxi driver until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Aberdeen Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $9,000 goes:
• Transport to Aberdeen Cancer Centre: $600
• Scans and lab work: $1,500
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $5,500
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,400
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

What's already covered and what's the $9,000 for?
Transport to Aberdeen Cancer Centre is $600 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Thanks for asking.
Shared it with a few friends. Thinking of Aberdeen.
You're not alone, Ivy. Hope the doctors have good news. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Blessings!
rooting for you, Ivy. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. I went through something like this 8 years ago and strangers helped me out.
You're not alone. Shared it with a few friends. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
Sending good thoughts, Ivy. This could happen to any of us. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
