Macharia was diagnosed with stomach cancer in December. The oncology team at the Mukono Oncology Institute has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in March. He will be away from work for about 3 weeks.
Macharia is 55, worked as a farmer until December, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Mukono Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.

• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,200
• Scans and lab work: $120
• Transport to the Mukono Oncology Institute: $150
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $105
• Household costs while unable to work: $275
