Jorge has dangerous exposed wiring in two rooms, and cannot afford a licensed plumber to fix it; a few hours of professional help would make the home safe.

In November an inspector told me that my home has dangerous exposed wiring in two rooms. It's a safety risk for me and my newborn. The landlord has refused to act, and quotes of $150 are beyond us. I'm looking for a licensed plumber who may be able to donate a few hours or do the repair at cost. I can cover the parts, which I estimate at $50. The job should take about three hours. I'll make sure someone is home and will provide refreshments. I can share the inspector's written report on request. If you're a plumber and can help, or know a program that assists with this sort of repair, I'd really appreciate it. Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

  • You're not alone, Jorge. Gave what I could, wish it was more.

      • Sending good thoughts, Jorge. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.

        • I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Wish I lived closer to Austin so I could bring a meal. All the best

          • Keep going, Jorge. Shared this with my family. I'm in hospitality myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you
