A college application mentor for Chukwuemeka, first in the family to apply
Looking for a graduate who can spend an hour a week reviewing Chukwuemeka's essays until September.

I'm Chukwuemeka, 17, in Year 12. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study economics.
I have a 3.9 average, I volunteer at the local library and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work.
I'm looking for an hour a week until September. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request.
Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask.
I hope life is good to you.

You're not alone. Shared it with a few friends. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. All the best.
So sorry you're going through this, Chukwuemeka. Hope you get there. I have a 17 year old who wants to send good wishes too. God bless.
Study hard! Please keep us posted. Thinking of Ikeja
