Juazeiro do Norte

For three years I have run a barbershop in Juazeiro do Norte. In April, the demolition of the market took clippers, chairs and mirrors. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Wednesday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 5 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go. Where the $1,100 goes: • Replacing clippers, chairs and mirrors: $730 • Initial stock: supplies: $160 • Shop repairs and licensing: $110 • Working capital for the first month: $100 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Updates from Luciana

Good news. Because of your gifts ($305 in total) I made the first payment toward initial stock: supplies. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
Update from Juazeiro do Norte: the first invoice got paid this week. We're at 16% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
