Let's build a community garden together in Contagem

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia community hall, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $450. It will serve about 425 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $450 goes: • Materials: $280 • Permits and inspections: $30 • Safety equipment and signage: $70 • Tools hire and delivery: $70 Glad we found this place.
