Luana was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in March. The oncology team at Santos Regional Medical Center has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in June. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Luana is 24, worked as a bus conductor until March, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Santos Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $3,150 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,850
• Scans and lab work: $440
• Transport to Santos Regional Medical Center: $195
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $195
• Household costs while unable to work: $470
