Kwaku was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in July. The surgeon at Takoradi Community Hospital recommended a craniotomy, and He is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,400, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $1,200 short.
my son has been in and out of Takoradi Community Hospital since July. The doctors say a benign brain tumor will get worse without a craniotomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,400 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Kwaku struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Kwaku won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing.
