Ankit was diagnosed with a hip fracture that never healed properly in April. The surgeon at Pune Community Hospital recommended emergency hernia repair, and He is scheduled for August. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,700, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $1,350 short.
my husband has been in and out of Pune Community Hospital since April. The doctors say a hip fracture that never healed properly will get worse without emergency hernia repair. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,700 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Ankit struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Ankit won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.

It's all in the list in the story. post-operative medication is the big one at $30, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Happy to explain more.
