Kimberly was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in September. The oncology team at San Francisco University Hospital has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 10 weeks. Kimberly is 55, worked as a bank teller until September, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to San Francisco University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $9,000 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $5,750 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $360 • Transport to San Francisco University Hospital: $720 • Household costs while unable to work: $2,170 I hope life is good to you.

It's all in the list in the story. chemotherapy and medication not covered is the big one at $5,750, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Fair thing to want to know.

        • Take care, Leonardo. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Take care.

          • Rooting for you, Leonardo. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My neighbor in Dammam donated after I showed her your page.

            • Hope the doctors have good news. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Greetings from Medan.

              • Hope it all works out, Leonardo. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Thinking of San Francisco.

                • stay strong. Hope the doctors have good news. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
