Kieran was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in July. The oncology team at Kilkenny Regional Medical Center has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in August. He will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Kieran is 29, worked as a shop owner until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Kilkenny Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $8,750 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $4,950
• Scans and lab work: $1,200
• Transport to Kilkenny Regional Medical Center: $380
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $320
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,900
