Kehinde was diagnosed with kidney cancer in July. The oncology team at Lagos Regional Medical Center has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Kehinde is 28, worked as a bakery worker until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Lagos Regional Medical Center 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $520
• Scans and lab work: $130
• Transport to Lagos Regional Medical Center: $140
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $75
• Household costs while unable to work: $285
