In August an inspector told me that my home has faulty wiring that trips the power and smells of burning. It's a safety risk for me and my newborn. The landlord has refused to act, and quotes of $1,150 are beyond us. I'm looking for a licensed roofer who may be able to donate a few hours or do the repair at cost. I can cover the parts, which I estimate at $250. The job should take about eight hours. I'll make sure someone is home and will provide refreshments. I can share the inspector's written report on request. If you're a roofer and can help, or know a program that assists with this sort of repair, I'd really appreciate it. If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

  • Sending strength. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.

    • I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Put this on a community board in São Paulo this morning.

      • I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. It's not much but it's yours. Greetings from Louisville.

        • I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Thinking of Södertälje.

          • Sending strength, Karl. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Greetings from Grenoble.
