Ethan received an eviction notice - help us catch up on rent
A 10-day notice to quit arrived last week. Ethan needs $2,900 to clear the arrears and stay housed in San Jose.

After a car accident that kept me from work for 8 weeks, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Thursday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $2,900.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by November, we must leave.
I have two young children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working evenings as a cleaner, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $2,900 goes:
• Rent arrears (3 months): $1,850
• Late fees and court costs: $280
• Utilities in arrears: $200
• First month of rent as a buffer: $570
Every share and every dollar helps.
