He has worked as a barista to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $3,200. The registrar has said Kai can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Kai has a 3.9 average, and an academic advisor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Kai would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
