Help Josiah get back to civilian life: housing deposit and training
A marines veteran in Derry needs help with a vocational welding course and tools after leaving service with a service-related knee injury.
🇬🇧 Derry, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom1,502 views
Harper served four years in the marines and was discharged in 2023 with a service-related knee injury. She has been waiting eleven months for support, and meanwhile is sleeping at a brother's place.
The plan: a vocational welding course and tools. The quote comes to $3,700.
Harper is receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and is committed to recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden.
Where the $3,700 goes:
• Training provider fees: $1,200
• Housing deposit and first month: $1,850
• Transport to appointments: $230
• Essential household items: $420
