Help Irene restart a neighborhood bakery in León after a storm that collapsed the roof
A neighborhood bakery in León needs help replacing a commercial oven after a storm that collapsed the roof.
🇲🇽 León, Guanajuato, Mexico1,463 views
For fifteen years I have run a neighborhood bakery in León. In May, a storm that collapsed the roof took a commercial oven. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 12 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $1,200 goes:
• Replacing a commercial oven: $820
• Initial stock: flour, butter and sugar: $90
• Shop repairs and licensing: $95
• Working capital for the first month: $195
Thanks for being kind about this.

Take care, Irene. Hope you get there. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
You're not alone, Irene. This could happen to any of us
Keep going, Irene. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Blessings.
Stay strong, Irene. Your post was clear and honest. All the best.
Wishing you peace, Irene. It takes guts to ask. Well done. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
