Help Heather through 8 rounds of treatment for cervical cancer
8 rounds of treatment are planned at Cardiff Regional Medical Center; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.
🇬🇧 Wales, United Kingdom702 views
Heather was diagnosed with cervical cancer in May. The oncology team at Cardiff Regional Medical Center has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in July. She will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
Heather is 48, worked as a primary school teacher until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Cardiff Regional Medical Center 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $11,050 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $7,500
• Scans and lab work: $1,400
• Transport to Cardiff Regional Medical Center: $1,050
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $420
• Household costs while unable to work: $680
Thank you so much.
- Oliver
