Sabbir, my uncle, passed away on 6 April after a sudden heart attack. He was 87 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $800 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 15 April.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Sabbir to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a neighborhood youth program.
Where the $800 goes:
• Funeral home services and casket: $420
• Cemetery plot and burial fees: $240
• Transport of the deceased: $95
• Memorial gathering for the family: $45
