A first-generation student, Halima needs help covering tuition for the final stretch of a pharmacy diploma.
🇳🇬 Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria1,728 views
Halima is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a pharmacy diploma at the Lagos Institute of Technology, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a warehouse packer to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $300.
The registrar has said Halima can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Halima has a 3.9 average, and an academic advisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Halima would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Halima isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the the Lagos Institute of Technology bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $300 goes:
• Exam and lab fees: $25
• Textbooks and materials: $20
• Outstanding tuition balance: $255

Hang in there, Nnamdi. Hope this works out for you. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Take care.
