Emiliano was diagnosed with a deviated septum causing chronic infections in February. The surgeon at Iztapalapa Regional Medical Center recommended cataract surgery, and He is scheduled for May. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $690, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $550 short. my brother has been in and out of Iztapalapa Regional Medical Center since February. The doctors say a deviated septum causing chronic infections will get worse without cataract surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $690 is more than we can find. While we wait, Emiliano struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Recovery is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Emiliano won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section. Where the $550 goes: • Post-operative medication: $70 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $175 • Travel and lodging for the family: $55 • Physiotherapy sessions: $250 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
