Ellie was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in May. The surgeon at Tallahassee General Hospital recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and She is scheduled for August. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $9,750, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $7,400 short.
my mother has been in and out of Tallahassee General Hospital since May. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $9,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Ellie struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Ellie won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
