Help Ellie keep the the Sunday Shelf pantry stocked
Ellie runs a volunteer pantry feeding 147 families; this fund restocks shelves for the school holidays.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Wednesday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 30 families, and now we feed 147 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 54% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 14 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the San Diego market and keep every receipt.
Each $55 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $3,750 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,800
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,100
• Baby formula and diapers: $630
• Refrigeration and electricity: $220
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Praying for you. Looking forward to the next update. After 13 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
Thinking of you, Ellie. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. I'm in public service myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Blessings
Sending love, Ellie. This could happen to any of us. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Thinking of San Diego.
