The Bread & Beans Kitchen pantry in Berlin is running low just as demand rises; $1,600 will stock it for 9 weeks.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Monday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 28 families, and now we feed 303 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 41% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 16 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Berlin market and keep every receipt.
Each $35 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $1,600 goes:
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,000
• Refrigeration and electricity: $200
• Baby formula and diapers: $400

Small update. $331 so far, we've booked the dates and paid the deposit.
