Help Elisabeth keep the Bread & Beans Kitchen pantry stocked
The Bread & Beans Kitchen pantry in Berlin is running low just as demand rises; $1,600 will stock it for 9 weeks.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Monday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 28 families, and now we feed 303 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 41% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 16 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Berlin market and keep every receipt.
Each $35 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $1,600 goes:
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,000
• Refrigeration and electricity: $200
• Baby formula and diapers: $400
If you're reading this, thank you.
Updates from Elisabeth
Small update. $331 so far, we've booked the dates and paid the deposit.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($377 in total) I met with the wholesaler and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

Take care. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Elisabeth.
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. fresh vegetables and fruit is the biggest at $1,000. It helps to be asked.
Hope things get better soon, Elisabeth. Hope this works out for you. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
Good luck, Elisabeth. Shared it with a few friends. Greetings from Tamale.
