Otávio, my father, passed away on 12 May after a short illness. He was 58 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $1,000 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 22 May. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Otávio to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a neighborhood youth program. Where the $1,000 goes: • Funeral home services and casket: $610 • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $175 • Transport of the deceased: $100 • Memorial gathering for the family: $115 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
