Since 2023, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Tuesday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 30 families, and now we feed 94 each week. Donations have dropped by about 33% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 11 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Port Harcourt market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $200 goes: • Refrigeration and electricity: $35 • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $90 • Baby formula and diapers: $75 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Daniel

  • Shared this with my family. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Mandurah

    • You're not alone, Daniel. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Please keep us posted. Take care.
