Claire is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a degree in civil engineering at Los Angeles University, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a tutor to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $5,050.
The registrar has said Claire can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Claire has a distinction average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Claire would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Claire isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Los Angeles University bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
