I served ten years in the air force and was discharged in 2024 with a back injury. I have been waiting nine months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a vocational welding course and tools. The quote I have comes to $500.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden.
Where the $500 goes:
• Training provider fees: $290
• Essential household items: $50
• Housing deposit and first month: $160
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
