Carolina was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst in August. The surgeon at Palmira University Hospital recommended emergency hernia repair, and She is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,000, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $1,600 short. my mother has been in and out of Palmira University Hospital since August. The doctors say a large ovarian cyst will get worse without emergency hernia repair. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,000 is more than we can find. While we wait, Carolina struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
