Amparo was diagnosed with prostate cancer in August. The oncology team at San Nicolás de los Garza University Hospital has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Amparo is 37, worked as a shop owner until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to San Nicolás de los Garza University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.

• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $200
• Scans and lab work: $330
• Household costs while unable to work: $450
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,320
