Salim has been on dialysis for 5 years and until recently drove to the Giza Kidney Centre alone. After an eyesight problem, Salim can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 4 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 12 km each way. Salim is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

  • Shared it with a few friends. Put this on a community board in Rockford this morning. Take care.

    • shared this with my family. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Greetings from Pietermaritzburg.

      • Thinking of you and your family. It takes guts to ask. Well done. After 12 years in retail I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Blessings
