Help Álvaro through 8 rounds of treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia
Álvaro is facing acute lymphoblastic leukemia and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇲🇽 León, Guanajuato, Mexico437 views
Álvaro was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in December. The oncology team at the León Oncology Institute has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in February. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Álvaro is 48, worked as a bakery worker until December, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the León Oncology Institute 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,350 goes:
• Household costs while unable to work: $540
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $160
• Scans and lab work: $480
• Transport to the León Oncology Institute: $170
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Wishing you the best. Shared this with my family. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. God bless.
Thanks for sharing this, Verónica. Gave what I could, wish it was more. It's not much but it's yours
Thinking of you, Verónica. Shared it with a few friends. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. God bless.
Hope things get better soon, Verónica. Looking forward to the next update. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home
