Alexa was diagnosed with endometriosis requiring surgery in July. The surgeon at Los Angeles Regional Medical Center recommended gallbladder removal, and She is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $3,800, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $2,850 short.
my sister has been in and out of Los Angeles Regional Medical Center since July. The doctors say endometriosis requiring surgery will get worse without gallbladder removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $3,800 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Alexa struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Alexa won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
