Ochieng, my father, passed away on 24 October after a stroke. He was 68 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $500 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 12 November.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Ochieng to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to the Nakuru hospice.

• Memorial gathering for the family: $85
• Transport of the deceased: $75
