Heather was diagnosed with colon cancer in November. The oncology team at San Francisco Cancer Centre has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in March. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks. Heather is 33, worked as a nurse until November, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to San Francisco Cancer Centre 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $7,150 goes: • Scans and lab work: $1,250 • Transport to San Francisco Cancer Centre: $1,150 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,300 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $3,450 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
