A prosthetic leg for Vindya: help me move freely
A prosthetic leg would give Vindya independence - we're $150 away.
🇱🇰 Negombo, Western, Sri Lanka601 views
I live with cerebral palsy. My occupational therapist at the Negombo Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $150.
My current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 8 weeks.
With the right equipment I could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $150 goes:
• First-year servicing plan: $60
• Delivery and set-up: $30
• Fitting and training sessions: $60
Glad we found this place.
