Harmony Park needs a free library and reading room - Phúc's neighborhood project
Volunteers in San Antonio are raising $3,950 for a free library and reading room at Harmony Park.
🇺🇸 San Antonio, Texas, United States1,619 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Harmony Park, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $3,950.
It will serve about 152 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,950 goes:
• Materials: $3,100
• Permits and inspections: $260
• Safety equipment and signage: $430
• Tools hire and delivery: $160
Thank you for reading my story.

Good luck. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Greetings from Springfield

So sorry you're going through this, Phúc. This could happen to any of us. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from Kingston
